“Painting Room”

As a post-baccalaureate student at the Maryland Institute College of Art, I experimented with painting as a process.  I made a video/performance that encompasses important aspects of my studio practice, including spontaneous action, gestural movement, and manipulation of the plasticity of paint.  By first throwing the paint alone and then inviting my classmates to peel the paint, I explore the individualist construction versus the community deconstruction of a painting within an installation room.

I am interviewed by Ariane Roesch of UNIT about my background, artwork, and process at Spring Street Studios.
